Qatar Steel is improving production efficiency and reducing its environmental footprint by using natural gas as its primary energy source — a cleaner alternative to other fuels. Natural gas accounts for 96% of total energy consumption across the group’s steel, fertilizer, and petrochemical operations, significantly lowering emissions and enhancing process sustainability.
Founded in 1974, Qatar Steel was the first integrated steel plant in the Gulf region. Since 2003, it has been fully owned by Industries Qatar and plays a key role in the country’s industrial development.
