Cases and effects:
L’Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau potable (ONEE) has successfully implemented the PERG program — the largest rural electrification initiative in Morocco. In 2024 alone, 198 villages were connected to the grid, providing electricity access to over 4,300 rural households (around 19,000 people). As a result, the electrification rate in rural Morocco reached 99.90% by the end of 2024, benefiting a total of 13 million people.
ONEE is a state-owned operator and a key player in the electricity, drinking water, and sewage sectors in Morocco. The organization modernizes networks, implements sustainable practices, expands resource access, and works to reduce water and energy losses.
